This year, Santa Barbara Botanic Garden celebrates its 100th anniversary—a century dedicated to the beauty, preservation, and understanding of California’s native plants.
We’re honored to be part of that story.
In celebration of the Garden’s Centennial year, we’re partnering on a four-part seasonal beer series—each release inspired by the rhythms of the seasons and crafted with native plants sourced directly from the Garden. It’s a collaboration rooted in place and a shared reverence for the environment around us.
The first release in the series, Saison Printemps 2026, debuted as the official beer of the Garden’s Centennial Beer Garden celebration.

SAISON PRINTEMPS 2026
Saison Printemps 2026 is a mixed culture blend crafted with Hummingbird Sage from Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, FP Farms Lemon Thyme, and fresh lemon zest. The blend is made from beers that have been aging in our tart foeders, brewed with wheat and malt grown on the FP Farm. Together they aged four months in a stainless tote before receiving the locally foraged ingredients. Its high carbonation enhances the herbal notes and gives the beer a bright, spritzy finish.
Hummingbird Sage reminds us of early spring, bringing soft tropical fruit flavors and a hint of mint that complement the lively acidity and wild complexity of the blend.
It’s a beer shaped by time, place, and collaboration—a reflection of the landscape we’re lucky to call home.

SAISON ÉTÉ 2026
Saison Été 2026 was crafted in collaboration with Santa Barbara Botanic Garden in celebration of its centennial. This summer release is the second of four seasonal beers—each crafted with native plants sourced from the Garden.
Saison Été 2026 is a barrel-aged blend of our traditional Farmhouse Saison and Rye Saison, both brewed with malt and wheat grown on the FP Farm. After barreling, the beer was refermented for a year with our mixed culture of Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus. Once the secondary fermentation was complete, we added purple sage blossoms from Santa Barbara Botanic Garden to accentuate its wildflower and peppercorn character, followed by a light touch of FP Farm jasmine flowers for a soft floral finish on the palate.
Purple sage blossoms capture the transition from spring to summer in our region, when grasses and wildflowers begin to dry beneath the sun and the landscape takes on a new expression. Their distinctive character, complemented by a touch of jasmine, contributes to a beer filled with floral, herbal, lightly sweet, and citrus notes—a true reflection of the rhythms of this place.
